Don't Forget To Bring
>
Here's a basic list of what you might want to bring on your vacation. You'll no doubt have your own needs, but we thought this might be helpful, knowing what we do about the amenities in this home!
Personal toiletries
Camera, memory cards, charger
Phone and electronics chargers
Sunblock, swim suits, sunglasses
Bring ziplock bags to put your phone in while near the river so you don't get it wet when you drop it and you will drop, at least I do every time.

We supply bath towels, toilet paper, paper towels, and soap/shampoo/conditioner/lotion in each bathroom, but if you have a longer stay or are maximum occupancy you might want to bring a few extras.
We also supply makeup removal wipes and black makeup towels. Please do not use the white towels to remove makeup.

Remember, the weather person is the only one who can be wrong and still keep their job. We like to say "there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing".
Planning Your Arrival
>
Pulling Into The Driveway and Leaving
The turn to get off the highway comes up on you fast. When you see the red mailboxes and the highway railing slow down and turn into the gravel driveway. There are small divots in the path so drive with caution.
When you come to the fork in the road go right. Do not go left as that is the neighbor's home and their property.
Here is a short video on how to pull into the driveway and where to park at the Lodge:
When leaving at any time of day be cautious as you are entering a highway right when you pull out. It helps if you wait till you cannot see another car to your left. In the winter months make sure to wait for the coast to be clear and then hit the gas until you are at the very top of the hill. If not your car can stall and you might have to just reverse and try again (happened to me this January and my neighbor saved me)
Access Codes / Instructions
We will provide you with an access key code the night before or the morning of your arrival. This will allow you to check yourself into the property via the front door as seen in the photo.
Simply enter the code provided by tapping the numbers then wait to hear the lock open and enter.
To lock the door when you are INSIDE simply turn the deadbolt.
To lock the door when you are OUTSIDE simply press the lock button on the key pad.
***Please note the time that your Access Code will be activated as it will not work until this time.
Check-In Time
Check-in time starts at 4:00pm. We can sometimes arrange an early check-in so please contact us if you will arrive early and we'll do our best, without any promises. Please do not arrive at the house until the scheduled check-in time as your door code will not work and it will put stress on the cleaners and potentially delay your check-in time.
If you are arriving early, have a look at the Local Area Guide section. We've listed lots of things to do around the area - it's time for you to kick back and start relaxing!
Parking
Parking is provided in front of the house. Please do not park on the grass and always stay on the gravel.
Do not park anywhere near the neighbor's lot on the left when you come down the hill.

Getting Yourself Oriented
>
Overview of the Area
River Access
You will be left speechless when you reach the back deck as the river is right in front of you. You can enter the river from the river bed just watch out for any rocks in the way. Don't jump off the floating deck as the river is more shallow than you think.

Stillwater Bar
Less than 800 feet from Lodge 93 if you wanted to grab a drink with some of the Olney locals or have more of a view of Lower Stillwater Lake.
Suggestions if you Arrive Early
Explore Downtown Whitefish
Take a stroll through the charming downtown area of Whitefish. Visit local shops, art galleries, boutiques, and specialty stores. If its sunny out stop by Sweet Peaks Ice cream for some tasty waffle cones and try their Black Bear and Buzz Bomb sundaes!
Whitefish City Beach
If the weather is pleasant, head to Whitefish City Beach. Relax on the sandy shores of Whitefish Lake, swim in the refreshing waters, or have a picnic in the designated areas.
Hiking
If you want to get outside for a bit, try hiking the Lion Mountain trail. It's a 2.6-mile beginners' trail and has great views of Skyles Lake.

Milkshake Bar
>

We want your stay to be as unique as possible and that's why we created the Milkshake Bar. It is a restored Hamilton Beach Milkshake Machine and works like a charm. There are milkshake glasses below and malt cups if you make enough for two. We have fully stocked the kitchen drawers with everything you need but the ice cream and milk. There is a video below of how to use it:
Coffee Bar
>

The coffee maker is a Cuisinart Coffee Center with 12 cup coffee maker that uses ground coffee and a single-serve brewer that uses K-Cups. The instruction manual is linked HERE and there is a video below explaining how to use it:
French Press: A French Press is also found at the Coffee Station for those who love their coffee a little extra special.
Stovetop / Oven
>

The stove is a four-burner electric flat top with an electric oven. Use the knobs at the top of the unit to turn the burners on and off. Use the buttons at the top of the unit to operate the oven to desired temps. There are two videos attached here for more help:

Laundry Room Appliances
>

Cleaning Supplies
If you have an accident in the kitchen or drop anything while walking outside to enjoy the sun we've got you covered. In the Laundry Room, we have a mop, brooms, a vacuum, and a whole cabinet filled with anything you might need. The closet to the right of the washer/dryer also contains everything you need to do your laundry on your trip.
Iron and Ironing Board
In this room on the left side of the washer and dryer has a compartment that comes out so you can iron your clothes without the hassle of setting up an ironing board. I explain in the video below everything in this room and how to use them.
Washer / Dryer
These are the standard washer and dryer that you might see in your own home. There is nothing too fancy or complicated about these ones, just make sure to turn off the power after you finish your laundry. In the same video below I explain how to use them.
The fire extinguisher is located in this room in case there is an emergency. As well as cleaning tools for the hot tub if there are unwanted bugs.
Here is a video of everything in the Laundry Room:
Trash Disposal
>
If there is excess trash that you want to be removed please visit the Flathead County Landfill. It is about a three-minute drive from the Lodge.
The trash facility is OPEN Thursday through Monday and closed on National Holidays.
DO NOT leave any kind of trash bags or food outside of the Lodge.
We don't want to attract any unneeded wildlife.
TV / Thermostat / Fans
>
Television:
There are two TVs in the house, one in the loft area upstairs and one in the master suite on the first floor. Here is a video on how to use them:
Thermostat:
The thermostat is located in the small bar area in the living room underneath the bar top. The house only does heating and can run a fan but there is no air conditioning. Here is a video on how to use it:
Fan Settings:
The fan in the living room has a remote control located right next to the thermostat. Make sure the fan is turned on before using the remote. The light switch that controls the fan is upstairs in the loft area and is labeled "FAN".
The fans in both of the upstairs rooms are controlled by pulling a metal string attached to the fan. Here is a quick video demonstrating how to use it:
Hot Tub
>

The hot tub is located to the right of the house right as you exit the master suite. There are two latches that need to come undone to open the lid. Open the lid with two people one on each side. Through directions are located in this quick video:
Do not leave the hot tub running and do not leave the hot tub lid uncovered as animals can get trapped inside. Make sure when leaving the hot tub to be careful of the wood as it might become slippery when wet. It will benefit you to place a towel at the side you exit from. Always leave from the side of the control panel, the other sides are close to the edge and may result in injury.
Outdoor Shed
>
When you exit the house, directly across from the Hot Tub is the Outdoor Shed. This shed houses the Kayaks, Paddle Boards, Life Jackets, and the Paddle Boards' air pump. Here is a video on how to enter the outdoor shed and how to operate the door lock:
Kayaks & Paddle Boards
>

Kayaks
The kayaks are stored in the outside storage shed parallel to the hot tub. They are bright green in color and should be stored how they are found. Have two adults carry the kayak from outside of the shed with one person in the front and one in the back. Do not drag the boat as it can easily scrape the bottom of it. Carry it to the river bed and have someone hold it in place as you get in. Do not attempt to board the boat from the floating deck as it is unsafe. Life jackets are to be worn at all times while using the kayak.
Paddleboards
Paddleboards are also stored in the outside shed. They are inflatable so only one adult is required to carry them. There are two handles for grabbing onto and making the process simpler. Carry it to the river bed and have someone hold it in place as you get on top. Use the oar to push off from shore and paddle the rest of the way. Do not attempt to board the board from the floating deck as it is unsafe. Life jackets are to be worn at all times while using the paddleboard.
I've attached a video of how to use these devices and where they are located on the property here:
Traeger Grill & Smoker
>

DO NOT COOK WITH THE GRILL NEAR THE HOUSE. This is a massive fire hazard and we want you to be as safe on your vacation.
The Traeger Grill & Smoker is heated by pellets that add to the flavor of the meat. To use it simply plug in the grill, turn the on button on, make sure pellets are loaded in the left pellet storage, and turn the knob to your desired heat. I've attached a video of how to use it right here:
Fire Pit
>

The Fire Pit is located right in the backyard next to the red shed. Inside the red shed, you will find all the necessary tools to start a fire.
Do not leave the fire burning overnight, please put the fire out fully, leaving no red embers in the pit.

Sauna
>

To operate the sauna:
Turn the knob one click. It will start to heat immediately.
If you turn the knob too far, it activates the delayed start timer.
There is free Wi-Fi for your use. The details are:

House Rules:
Screens / Bugs
In the spring and summertime there are a lot of bugs outside. If you don't want to be eaten alive by bugs make sure all the screens are on before opening a window. There are also two screens for the doors if you want to let in some fresh air during warm summer nights.
Slippery Surfaces
During the winter be extra cautious when walking around the icy property. We suggest wearing boots or metal traction spikes. The wood is especially slippery in the winter. In the spring and summer the wood can become wet after relaxing in the hot tub or the river, always watch your step and be safe exiting the hot tub.
Kayaks / Paddle Boards
There are two kayaks and two paddleboards. Have two adults carry the kayaks to the shore and one adult can carry the paddle board by themselves. LIFE JACKETS ARE REQUIRED when out on the river and using any of the water activity devices. We want everyone to be very safe on the water and that comes with these rules.

Departure Information
>
Check-out Time
Check-out time is strictly 10:00am. Should you require a later check-out we will do our best but you need to let us know beforehand as our cleaners are scheduled at the time of booking.
If we have guests arriving that day it will be almost impossible to offer a late check-out due to the cleaners needing to clean, sanitize, and prepare for those guests.
Check-out Process
Before your departure, we would appreciate if you would take care of the following:
Leave the beds unmade. No need to strip them.
Place one load of white towels only (no beach towels) in the washer and start it. Our cleaners will love you for this.
Load the dishwasher and start it.
Empty all the trash.
Move all furniture and items back to original locations
Check all doors and windows to be sure that they are locked.
